About Us
Located right off Main Street (Rt. 27), the Highland Park Farmers Market was established in 1996 and continues to operate as a weekly open-air farmers market. Farmers and other producers from throughout NJ come every Friday from February through December to sell some of the finest local and homemade products the state has to offer.
From Jersey Fresh and seasonal produce, to specialty mushrooms, farm-fresh dairy, sustainably-caught fish, homemade breads, pastries, pickles, and hot sauce, and so much more, the Highland Park Farmers Market has everything you need to cross off your grocery list while supporting local farmers and small businesses.
Check out our list of vendors here!
In addition to our wonderful vendors, the Market is frequently joined by community partners such as the Global Grace Be The Change Health Van, the Highland Park Public Library, Sustainable Highland Park, and other local businesses and organizations. Food trucks and tables provide a place to enjoy your lunch break and meet up with friends and neighbors.
The Market also hosts special events such as cooking competitions with seasonal ingredients, craft and theme days, and our live music series #MusicAtTheMarketHP, which brings local musicians to perform.
See our full list of special events for the season here!
Come by the Market to support local, farm-fresh food and say hello!
Market Tokens and Vouchers
While you can always use cash at the Market — and most of our vendors accept credit/debit cards — there are a number of other ways to pay. Check out the list below or visit the Market staff under the Susie Welkovits Pavilion to learn more.
-
These black tokens can be used like cash at all vendors and do not expire. They can be purchased from Market staff under the Welkovits Pavilion using debit/credit cards or Google/Apple Pay.
-
These digital gift cards can be used at businesses throughout Highland Park, including the Market. To redeem your gift card for Market Bucks, please visit Market staff under the Welkovits Pavilion.
-
We are a SNAP-Authorized Farmers Market, which means that you can use your SNAP EBT/NJ Families First card on eligible food products at the Market.
To use your SNAP EBT card at the Market, visit the Market staff under the Welkovits Pavilion. They will process your transaction and provide you with red SNAP tokens that can be spent at the Market. These red tokens can be used to buy any SNAP-eligible items within the Market. While most vendors have SNAP-eligible items available, the tokens must be purchased from Market staff under the Pavilion. These tokens expire at the end of December each year.
For more information about eligible items, visit the USDA info page here. -
The Good Food Buck Program (funded by City Green, Inc.) aims to increase access to locally-grown produce. When you spend your SNAP/EBT benefits at the HPFM, you can receive up to $25 per week of Good Food Bucks for free. For every $1 of SNAP funds spent, you will receive an additional $1 of Good Food Bucks (up to $25 per week).
When you make a transaction using a SNAP/EBT card with the Market staff under the Pavilion, you will receive these Good Food Buck green tokens. These green tokens can be spent on fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs at the Market. Like SNAP/EBT tokens, Good Food Bucks tokens expire at the end of December each year.
To learn more about the Good Food Buck Program, visit their website here.
-
These $5 vouchers are distributed by the Highland Park Community Food Pantry beginning in July of each year. These vouchers may be used to purchase groceries throughout the Market. Vouchers expire at the end of the Market season.
